I have had 3 kirbys in my married lifetime (41)yrs...the first one was wonderful/ the second one was PUSHED on me and wasn't even a brand new one but was sold to me as one...so after several years of doing nothing but putting up one stink after the other My second one was replaced for a meer $400. it lasted maybe 6 yrs...now I'm shopping around for a new one but NOT a Kirby...it only takes one sale person to honk you off and I had that very person...they are not worth the price and never again will I let a kirby dealer in my home...My first one was made better (made to last)---I had good service but just in the last 10 yrs the vacume itself is cheaply made/there is no service or help/and once you buy it you're just stuck w/it...
