Although Kirby vaccumes are sold door to door, when they visit you, they won't actually tell you who they are or what they're doing. They just want to do a free carpet cleaning demo for you. They may even tell you that they aren't going to try and sell you anything. But someone will later for sure.
In my experience, I was immediately given a free bottle of carpet cleaner spray. I thought initially that this is what they were going to try and sell me. But much later I realized they were from Kirby and were obviously wanting to sell me a vaccum cleaner. If I had never heard of Kirby, then I would never have realized that on my own.
So if someone happens by your house and gives you a free bottle of carpet cleaner spray, look at the brand name on the bottle. If it says Kirby, then you are facing a vaccum cleaner salesman. If you don't need a vaccum cleaner, then give them the bottle back.
