If you're looking to buy a vaccume cleaner, then here are the top rated brands to help narrow down your searching (upright models only).

Consumer Reports rates Hoover and Eureka the best, and surprisingly they don't rate Dyson very well.

Customers seem to rate Dyson higher than any others. So this shows that there are some differences in what the vaccumes are being rated on.

At any rate, Dyson, Hoover, and Eureka are three brands to start looking at.
