Appliances are something that you should really shop around for before buying. And you should shop around for large appliances more than for small appliances simply because they're much more expensive and you may find greater differences in prices. Another reason to shop around is that not every store carries the same brands. For example, only Sears sells Kenmore. The best place to buy appliances (pricewise) is often a large store that specializes in appliances. But not every city has a store like that.
